| [en] In the framework of the research project "Pierre Werner and Europe", interview with Yves Mersch, President of the Banque centrale du Luxembourg and Member of the Governing Council and General Council of the European Central Bank (ECB), carried out by the Centre Virtuel de la Connaissance sur l’Europe (CVCE) on 24 August 2010 at the Château de Sanem. The interview was conducted by Dr Elena Danescu, a Researcher at the CVCE, and particularly focuses on the following subjects: the personality and achievements of Pierre Werner, the Delors Plan and monetary Europe, the euro zone, the Stability and Growth Pact and economic governance after the Treaty of Lisbon, and the role of the ECB and central bankers in the European integration process. | |
