| [en] I will talk about the obligations of European states concerning the reception centers of migrants and refugees in the light of the European Convention on Human Rights – and as these obligations were interpreted by the Strasbourg Court very recently.
In the first part, I will speak to you about the legal framework of the Convention applying specifically on the issue of the detention of migrants/aliens. In the second part, I will focus on the recent case-law of the Strasbourg Court governing this issue. I will close the presentation with a reference to the new hot spot approach adopted very recently to address emergency situations at the European borders. | |
