In December 2019, the latest generation transportable superconducting gravimeter (SG) iGrav-043 purchased by the University of Bonn was installed in the Walferdange Underground Laboratory for Geodynamics (WULG) in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. In this paper, we estimate the calibration factor of the iGrav-043, which is essential for long-term gravity monitoring. We used simultaneously collected gravity data from the un-calibrated iGrav-043 and the calibrated Observatory superconducting gravimeter OSG-CT040 that operates continuously at WULG since 2002. The tidal analysis provides a simple way to transfer the calibration factor of one SG to the other. We then assess and compare tidal analyses, instrumental drifts and high frequency noises. After 20 years of continuous operation, the instrumental drift of the OSG-CT040 is almost zero. From 533 days of joint operation, we found that the instrumental drift of iGrav-043 exhibits a composite behavior: just after the setup and for two months a fast exponential decrease of 171 nm s−2, then a linear with a rate of 66 nm s−2 ± 10 nm s−2 per year. We suggest that a period of 3 months is sufficient for calibrating the iGrav. Accidental electrical power cuts triggered slight differences in the reaction and recovery of the OSG-CT040 and iGrav-043. However, it has been found that the long-term linear behavior of the drift was not affected. [less ▲]

After initial sea level observations in the 1950s, a new pressure tide gauge (Global Sea Level Observing System 187) was installed at King Edward Point (KEP), South Georgia Island, British Overseas Territories in the South Atlantic Ocean, in 2008. This was car-ried out as part of the ACCLAIM (Antarctic Circumpolar Current Levels by Altimetry and Island Measurements) programme. In 2013 the KEP Geodetic Observato-ry was established in support of various geoscience applications including the monitor-ing of vertical land movements at KEP. Currently, the observatory consists of two state-of-the-art GNSS stations with local benchmark networks, allowing the height determina-tions from the GNSS antennas to be transferred to the tide gauge and forming a height reference within the International Terrestrial Reference Frame. Finally in 2014, a tide board was added to the tide gauge, which, together with the GNSS and levelling obser-vations, now allows the calibration of the tide gauge. In this study, we will present the results from the calibration of the tide gauge using the GNSS observations from the KEP Geodetic Observatory for the period from February 2013 to present, the levelling campaigns in 2013 and 2014, and geoid undulations de-rived from a seamless combination of the latest GOCO and EGM2008 gravity models. In 2008 a new pressure tide gauge with Global Sea Level Observing System Number 187 was installed at King Edward Point (KEP), South Georgia Island, South Atlantic Ocean. This installation was carried out as part of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current Levels by Altimetry and Island Measurements (ACCLAIM) programme. In 2013 the KEP Geodetic Observatory was established in support of various scientific applications including the monitoring of vertical land movements at KEP. Currently, the observatory consists of two state-of-the-art Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) stations with local benchmark networks. This ties all benchmarks and the tide gauge into the International Terrestrial Reference Frame 2008, and allows the establishment of a local height datum in a global height system through the use of a global gravitational model. In 2014 a tide board was added to the tide gauge, which, together with the GNSS and levelling observations, now enables a calibration of the tide gauge. This will make it possible to include the KEP tide gauge in the Permanent Service for Mean Sea Level (PSMSL) database. In this study, we will present the results from the calibration of the tide gauge using the GNSS observations from the KEP Geodetic Observatory for the period from February 2013 to present, the levelling campaigns in 2013 and 2014, and geoid undulations derived from a seamless combination of the latest Gravity Observation Combination (GOCO) 05S and Earth Gravitational Model (EGM) 2008 models. The social contract in Egypt has changed dramatically five times in the past decade. Mubarak made substantial amendments in 2005 and 2007, the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) ratified the 2011 Constitutional Declaration, the Muslim Brotherhood adopted the 2012 Constitution and, finally, Al-Sisi/Mansur proclaimed the 2014 Constitution. Currently, Egypt faces social, economic, political and legal problems. The Egyptian judiciary plays a vital role in the inability to respond to these problems. This research argues that the call for judicial reform should be revived to face contemporary challenges. These challenges are the result of the absence of serious judicial reform in the past four decades. The 1973 Judicial Authority Law was a result of the social contract presented in the 1971 Constitution. The research lists the reasons for adopting a new judicial authority law. In the first section, the social aspect is embodied in the protection of freedoms, judicial transparency and judicial legitimacy. The second section dealing with economic reasons for reform is divided into two parts. The first deals with Independent Bodies and Regulatory Agencies. The second issue reveals the role of the judiciary in the successive failures of the IBRA. The third section deals with the role of the judiciary in political life. The fourth section presents the legal reasons for judicial reform. [less ▲]

This chapter explores to what extent the global agenda of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is an imagined global agenda or, in fact, an extrapolated cultural agenda imposing culturally-imprinted views of the world as a whole, including the framing of its bearers (the sustainable eco-citizen). Two questions are of interest here: How did environmentalism become simultaneously globalized and educationalized issues? What happens when this practice, justified as a global movement, is translated in a specific national culture? We illustrate this by referring to the example of WWF and WWF teaching materials for ESD that were developed in the specific Swedish context. [less ▲]

Objective To evaluate the impact of CamAPS FX hybrid closed-loop automated insulin delivery (HCL) in very young children with type 1 diabetes (T1D) on caregivers’ well-being, fear of hypoglycemia and sleepiness. Research Design Multinational, open label, randomized crossover study. Children (1-7years) with T1D received treatment for two 4-month periods in random order, comparing HCL with sensor augmented pump (SAP) (control). At baseline and after each treatment period, caregivers were invited to complete WHO-5, Hypoglycemia Fear Survey (HFS) and Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS). Results Caregivers of 74 children (mean±SD: age 5±2 years; 42% female, baseline HbA1c 7.3±0.7%) participated. Results revealed significantly lower scores for hypoglycemia fear (p<.001) and higher for well-being (p<.001) after HCL treatment. A trend towards a reduction in sleepiness score was observed (p=0.09). Conclusion Our results suggest a better well-being and less hypoglycemia fear in caregivers of very young children with T1D on CamAPS FX HCL. [less ▲]

Query-Focused Multi-Document Summarization (QF-MDS) is the task of automatically generating a summary from a collection of documents that answers a specific user's query. Extractive methods are primarily based on identifying, selecting, and ranking sentences according to their relevance to the given query. These methods have shown promising results; however, they may yield incoherent summaries when pronominal anaphoric expressions appear unbound. To address this issue, this paper proposes a novel method that leverages both contextual embeddings and anaphora resolution methods. More specifically, the Sentence-BERT (SBERT) model is employed to generate contextual embeddings for the sentences in the documents and the user's query. Additionally, the SpanBERT model is utilized to resolve unbound pronominal references in the input sentences of the documents, aiming to improve the cohesiveness of the generated summaries. We have conducted a comprehensive comparative analysis using quantitative and qualitative evaluations against other state-of-the-art systems on the standard DUC'2005 and DUC'2007 datasets. The results obtained show that the proposed method is competitive and outperforms recent query-focused multi-document summarization systems on certain ROUGE evaluation measures. Furthermore, human evaluation results further confirm that our method is able to generate more informative, cohesive, and less redundant summaries. [less ▲]
