Die Kläranlage Bleesbrück des Abwasserverbands SIDEN in Luxemburg soll für die gezielte Stickstoffelimination mit einer Ausbaugröße von 130 000 E + EW erweitert werden. Die Sauer als der natürliche Vorfluter wird während der Sommermonate in den unterhalb der Kläranlage liegenden Gewässerabschnitten in hohem Umfang touristisch genutzt. Vor diesem Hintergrund wurde die Entwicklung der Nährstoffeinträge und der bakteriologischen Belastung der Sauer, die sich aus der Erweiterung der Kläranlage Bleesbrück ergeben, für das zugehörige Einzugsgebiet untersucht. In einer Emissionsbilanz wurden als Eintragsquellen die Kläranlagenabläufe, das Kanalisationssystem (Mischwasserüberläufe) und diffuse Quellen betrachtet. Auf Basis dieser Bilanz wurde der Einfluss der Kläranlage Bleesbrück an den Gesamtemissionen im Einzugsgebiet sowohl für den Ist-Zustand als auch für den Ausbauzustand beurteilt. In einem zweiten Schritt wurden Maßnahmen für eine Reduktion der Einträge abgeleitet. [less ▲]

In the literature of the recent past has been reported from time to time by the so-called energy-autarchic wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in several countries. On a closer look, this statement refers almost always only on the electricity consumption, the heat demand mostly was ignored. A survey concerning energy efficiency on wastewater treatment plants in North-West- Europe shows, that the so-called energy self-sufficient sewage treatment plant is still an issue for the next years. The more detailed analysis of already conducted energy audits and evaluated data from operational diaries shows that in many cases, especially for plants with anaerobic digestion, the own power production is regarded as the single criterion for energy self-sufficiency. In this study, therefore, further criteria such as heat demand/heat production and degradation rates were used for a comparison at a national level. [less ▲]

The 8th International Comparison of Absolute Gravimeters (ICAG-2009) and the associated Relative Gravity Campaign (RGC2009) took place at the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (BIPM) between July and October 2009. Altogether 24 institutes with 22 absolute gravimeters and 9 relative gravimeters participated in the ICAG/RGC campaign. Accurate absolute and relative gravity measurements as well as precision levelling measurements were performed on the micro-gravity 3D-grid at the BIPM. The 2009 comparison was the first to be organized as a Comité International des Poids et Mesures (CIPM) metrological Key Comparison under the CIPM MRA (Mutual Recognition Arrangement), which means that the result will be officially recognized by the governmental organizations responsible. As a consequence, the relative gravimeters employed were carefully selected and the measurement schedules were rigorously enforced compared with earlier campaigns. Thus the quality of the RGC2009 and the determination of the BIPM local gravity network were improved. After 30 years and eight successive ICAGs, the BIPM has decided to transfer its role to the national metrological institutes, although the CIPM will continue to organize the key comparison as ICAGs. The background to the RGC2009, and the organization, data processing and final results of the gravity and vertical gravity gradients, are presented in this paper. This report is more detailed than previous final reports of the RGCs. [less ▲]
